About The Artist: Sharon Ann Burton

Sharon, a retired Special Education teacher (from the Saratoga Springs City School District in upstate NY), resides with her husband, Wayne, in the Del Webb Carolina Gardens community in Fuquay Varina, NC. She is a self-taught artist. She is always inspired to write and illustrate children’s books about family, saving, volunteering and animals, especially those that are vulnerable or endangered. Titles of all her books are: “Grammy Luvs Me”, “When I Grow Up”, “Let’s Save”, “Let’s Volunteer”, “Desert Moms”, “Save Our Planet”, and “The Painted Protectors”. All books can be purchased on Amazon.com.

As an artist, she has also created murals and individual water-based paintings. Through experimentation and observation, Sharon has developed her own techniques using watercolors and liquid acrylics. Her subject matter is frequently glass, flowers, animals/pets, portraits, landscapes and much more. Benches and side tables built by her husband, Wayne, also feature some of her artistic compositions and designs.

Finally, as a result of her love for all animals, she is an animal rights activist and donates, whenever possible, to animal rescue organizations.

She can be contacted at:  sburton2195@gmail.com
